Fremantle Dockers captain Nat Fyfe has been courting controversy  this season for not disclosing whether his future lies outside the club.

The Brownlow medallist has stated he would leave contract talks to the end of the season, which has left football experts assuming his intention is to leave.

Fyfe’s contact is due to finish at the end of the 2017 season and the experts are predicting he will move interstate to the team offering the highest money.

Similar talks are surrounding Richmond star Dustin Martin who sits in a similar boat at season’s end.

One expert who believes differently is former AFL player manager Ricky Nixon, who feels Fyfe and Martin could stay at their clubs – depending on the clubs’ success.

“My gut instinct in what I read about Nat Fyfe and Dustin Martin is that they won’t go anywhere,” he told ECU Daily.

“It will have a lot to do with how Fremantle and Richmond will go this year, if they win more than 10 games they will stay where they are.”

Other commentators believe that if Fyfe, WA born and bred, was offered more than a million dollars a year by another club he would be lured across the Nullarbor.

The Dockers appointed Fyf e captain at the start of the 2017 season, a year after he was made vice captain.
