The French Film Festival is in its second week, with A- list French and international actors appearing on screen in three of Perth’s Luna Palace Cinemas.
Forty-five films are being shown this year – more than last year – at 260 screenings in Northbridge, Nedlands and Fremantle.
The Artistic Director, Phillipe Platel, said he was excited for this year’s festival.
“This presentation of the Festival is the first for me as an Artistic Director and it gives me great pleasure to dedicate my time and passion to French cinema, France’s ode to dreams and creativity,” Philippe said on the Alliance Française website.
Carine Bougnague, the managing director of Alliançe Française Perth, told ECU Daily the festival helped reinforce the great friendship between France and Australia.
“The number of French people have doubled in the last six years,” said Carine. “An estimated 12,000 French citizens now live in Western Australia.”
The French Festival will run until April fifth.
